Orthodontics is my passion. I absolutely love what I do and connecting with my patients and families. Being able to address their unique needs and concerns makes each day an exciting challenge that motivates me to learn more about the latest advances to help my patients and their entire journey in the best possible way. I feel truly fortunate to say that I get to make people smile for a living!
Professional Background
Dr. Paula Ohara was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She completed her dental school education at the prestigious University of Sao Paulo (USP), renowned as one of the top dental schools in the world. With a strong foundation in dental medicine, Dr. Ohara pursued her dream of becoming an orthodontist, moving to Boston to further her studies. There, she earned her Master of Science and Certificate of Orthodontics at Boston University.
Following her residency, two of her mentors at Boston University referred her to a practice in beautiful Washington, where she has since made her home. As an Invisalign Preferred Provider, Dr. Ohara is dedicated to offering the latest and most effective orthodontic treatments to her patients.
Personal Life
Outside of orthodontics, Dr. Ohara enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and immersing herself in different cultures and cuisines. Fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, she loves practicing both languages whenever she has the opportunity.
